Team Rider Update: Phoebe Strachan’s Winter Recap

As we shift out of spring and into summer, we wanted to take a moment to catch you up on what our incredible team rider Phoebe Strachan has been up to — and it’s safe to say she’s had one heck of a winter!

Phoebe spent the colder months making the most of some seriously good waves at home in Scotland — scoring memorable sessions with her crew and training hard in classic Scottish conditions (freezing). But she also managed to squeeze in a spontaneous adventure to the Mentawais — booked just two days before flying out. It was her first ever warm-water trip, and her first time surfing without a wetsuit. A big contrast to her usual 6mm setup back home!

The trip was a dream, but true to form, Phoebe was just as stoked to return home to good waves at her favourite local spots — and to dive straight back into coaching. She’s recently launched her own surf coaching business, alongside her work as a joiner, and has been busy working with both local kids and Scotland’s national team. We absolutely love seeing her pass on her knowledge and passion to the next generation.

All the hard work paid off too. After a winter of solid training and water time, Phoebe went on to claim her 6th Scottish National Title at Easter — an incredible achievement that reflects not just her talent, but her dedication to the sport.

Now she’s looking ahead to the World and European championships later this year — and we couldn’t be more proud to support her on the journey. Massive respect to Phoebe for balancing it all with such heart and grit!

Phoebe has also recently launched a Crowdfunder to help raise funds for the Scottish Surfing Team’s journey to EuroSurf in Portugal. There are some great rewards on offer, and any support would be hugely appreciated! Click here to view the crowdfunder.
