So her she is, the newest surfboard in the Mango surfboards lineup: The all round fish. We wanted to add a board like this into our range because it ticks a lot of boxes for a wide range of surfers:
- A shorter board for improver/intermediate surfers who have learnt the basics on a mini mal and want to hone their skills on a shorter surfboard but but without losing the paddle power and stability of the boards they are used to surfing.
- A surfboard for us bigger guys who still want to ride shorter length boards but without sacrificing the volume needed so we don't sink. We have somehow managed to squeeze 45.45ltrs into the 6'2 without making it feel like a "boat" in the underarm test.
- The higher intermediates and advanced surfers will also love this board in the shorter lengths. It can be surfed as a small wave groveller or an all out speed machine in better waves.
The all round Fish is does exactly what it says on the tin, a surfboard that you can use in a wide variety of wave types and sizes, with its optimum conditions being from 2 to 4 foot, either beach breaks, points or the mellower reefs. Five fin boxes give you the option of quad or thruster set-up, and we would personally love to try it with larger front fins and a small trailer for an even looser retro fish feel.
The Mango surfboard range is made in Cornwall by Nigel Semmens and his team at the Ocean Magic factory. Nigel Semmens has been working in the surfboard industry for over 40 years, but his real claim to fame was his career as a competitive surfer. Nigel was the most successful European surfer of the 1980s. So we more than trust the advice he gives us. He knows how to make a surfboard that goes well, especially in our UK waves.
If the dims/spray/tail shape does not suit you we can do custom orders on any of the surfboards in our range. Just give us a call and we would love to discuss the finer details.
At Mango we love to surf, so if you need any more help about which model or size will be best for you just drop us a call, an email or a facebook message. We want to help find you that magic board, set of fins or wetsuit:
