Cyclones, Kirra and Caravans By Ishka Thres

Ishka’s been posted up in Lennox Head for a while now, soaking up life on the East Coast of Australia. He’s been lucky enough to score a sweet little caravan while a mate’s off exploring overseas—just a two-minute wander from the beach. Classic Ishka luck.

He’s been making the most of it too. When cyclone Alfred rolled through last month, all the local points turned on. Ishka ended up surfing some of the best waves of his life up at Kirra. He was absolutely buzzing—sharing the lineup with guys like Jack Robinson and Mick Fanning. Said it was surreal, paddling out with the pros and getting a few bombs of his own.

The waves haven’t let up much since either. He’s been in the water every day, taking full advantage of the 24-degree water—no thick wetsuit required, just boardshorts and go. When he’s not chasing swell, he’s been working a few shifts at a local bakery and planning the next little surf strike. Knowing Ishka, it won’t be long before he’s off on another mission up or down the coast.
